A Civil Engineer with over 20 years of experience spanning private and public sectors in Australia and internationally, Dr Blogg has been a driving force behind transformative transport initiatives, including leading the Queensland Government’s Cooperative and Automated Vehicle Initiative.

Miranda’s career began as a Traffic Engineer and Transport Planner with the private sector transport consultancy Kittleson & Associates – initially in their US office from 1999 to 2007, where she was involved in the planning and growth management of the Florida Department of Transportation.
While in the US, Dr Blogg worked on the USA National Cooperative Highways Research Program and the Transit Cooperative Research Program. She was a contributing author to a series of impactful publications covering highway engineering, transit capacity and multimodal transport.
In 2008, Miranda returned to Australia to establish the first international office of Kittleson & Associates, leading critical transport projects for the NSW and Queensland Governments. She joined the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in 2013, bringing her expertise to public sector transport leadership.
Miranda was appointed to oversee the Cooperative and Automated Vehicle Initiative (CAVI) in 2015, spearheading the team developing the technical foundations for Queensland’s adoption of emerging vehicle technologies, positioning the department at the forefront of transport technology.
As Director of CAVI, Dr Blogg oversaw 50 staff and led engagement with 22 industry and government partners, delivering projects including the Ipswich Connected Vehicle Pilot – the largest cooperative ITS trial in Australia, and the Cooperative and Highly Automated Driving Pilot aimed at improving road safety and contributing to the State’s vision for zero road deaths and fatalities.
Miranda sits on several program and industry boards – including iMOVE Australia – the national centre for transport and smart mobility research and development. Before this, she was a member of the Transport Certification Australia (TCA) board, focused on assurance in heavy vehicle telematics and access. She is a Past President of the Queensland Branch of the Australian Institute of Transportation Planning and Management.
Miranda is currently Director, Safer Roads Infrastructure with TMR, where she leads technical governance and innovation in road safety as well as program development and management in support of delivery partners.
