15th ITS Australia Awards
The ITS Australia Awards are the industry’s most prestigious and are a celebration of excellence in the Intelligent Transport Systems industry.
For more than a decade, the ITS Australia Awards have recognised and celebrated the growing influence of ITS across the transport industry. Each year we have seen increases in both the number of nominations received and the quality of work being submitted for the Awards. The Awards showcase the best of Australian ITS, reinforcing the nation's ITS capability and position as a world leader in transport technology development and deployment.
Both ITS Australia members and non-members are invited to submit your innovative and cutting-edge transport technology solutions for consideration and recognition through the ITS Australia awards program. This is an opportunity for all individuals and organizations working in the transport industry to showcase your achievements and contributions to the field.
Winners of the 15th ITS Australia Awards were announced at a gala dinner and ceremony at Westin Perth on Thursday 13 February 2025.

Woman of the Year Award
ITS Australia proudly presents the inaugural ‘Woman of the Year Award,’ designed to recognise an exceptional woman who has significantly contributed to the advancement of the ITS industry in Australia. The introduction of this award complements the prestigious Max Lay Lifetime Achievement Award and reflects that women have historically and continue to be underrepresented in the ITS industry, meaning it will take some time before we can fully celebrate diversity through the Max Lay Lifetime Achievement Award.
In establishing this new award, ITS Australia aims to celebrate and elevate the increasing impact of women in our sector, ensuring their remarkable achievements receive the visibility they rightfully deserve.

Max Lay Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognises an individual who personifies achievement of the ultimate standard for a leader in the ITS field and in the organisations they have led. The award recognises that they are a champion of the vision of ITS and its fulfilment within the community.
The award is named in honour of Dr Maxwell Lay (AM). In 2005, Max was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to engineering, particularly through leadership in the delivery of quality road infrastructure and the development of new contract management processes, and as an educator and historian. Max is an Australian pioneer and ITS researcher, engineer, project implementer and passionate advocate for the advancement of ITS.
