Texas/Atlanta CAV Study Tour 2025

This August, ITS Australia will host a transport technology study tour in Dallas Texas and Atlanta Georgia. ITS Australia is proud to support a collaborative approach between our government transport agencies, our regulators as well as our research partners and industry. Bringing a high-level group together to explore the success of deployments and learnings in Dallas, Texas and Atlanta Georgia will help us move forward with ambitious plans for Australia.

From August 19 to 22 2025, the tour will immediately precede the 2025 ITS World Congress in Atlanta, which begins on 24 August. In Atlanta, you will also have the opportunity to meet with peers and colleagues from across the globe who will be visiting the state in the lead-up to the ITS World Congress.

Proposed Itinerary

  • Tue. 19 August: Delegates arrive in Dallas Texas.
  • Wed. 20 August: Site visit with Texas Department of Transport to Heavy Vehicle AV deployments and meeting with Aurora Tech executives and lead engineers followed by dinner with international transport technology leaders.
  • Thur. 21 August: Morning site visit to Gatik / US Australia RoundTable Discussion – Evening flight to Atlanta Georgia.
  • Friday 22 August: Atlanta AM travel to review C-ITS deployment with Georgia Department of Transport – Green Light Priority for Freight Deployments – Lunch with US / Australia delegation. PM Meeting with GDoT discussing pathway to deployments and impacts for Waymo in Georgia and related topics hosted at One Georgia Center (OGC).

What's included:

  • On-site transport and other site visits/meetings.
  • Dinner on Wednesday and Friday night.
