John has a wealth of knowledge having had state-wide responsibility for corporate asset management, and regional construction and maintenance delivery strategies, policies and functions. In addition to having worked throughout the state, John has led heavy vehicle services and has international experience as the Australian representative on the World Road Association Technical Committee for Road Network Operations. John is a member of the State’s Road Safety Council and a Director of Nudge Foundation.

Dr Iain Russell has over twenty years working in the Telecommunications and ICT industry in Australia. He is a Senior advisor and Board member and has held several positions over the past 17 years in Telstra ranging from System Engineering, Technical program delivery, Product Management, Business & Technology strategy, and Business development with clients in Enterprise, Government and Consumer segments. He is currently driving the Connected Transport & Construction strategy in Telstra Enterprise with particular focus on Roads and Rail sectors.

Iain holds a PhD in Digital Signal Processing, a Bachelors with first class honours in Telecommunications Engineering, an Executive MBA from AGSM and appreciates the complexity and value of deep collaboration and innovation between Government, Industry and Academia to achieve great outcomes for communities. He has a wife and two daughters and is passionate about using digital technology for the greater good.

With over 30 years of experience in the mining sector, Simon has developed a strong passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Simon started his career as a Graduate Trainee at BP and went on to start his own company, TeamTech. Through innovation and effective sales strategies, he grew the company from a solo venture to a team of 27 with multi-million-dollar annual turnover before its acquisition.

With innovation at his core, Simon joined Hexagon's Mining division as Vice President, APAC, sharing their vision of creating a connected ecosystem that sustainably liberates the world's resources for the benefit of mankind. In this role, he leads approximately 400 staff and fosters a culture that empowers individuals to reach their full potential.

Looking ahead, Simon envisions a future where sustainable resource exploitation leads to the betterment of communities.

Kalan is an ITS Graduate at Main Roads Western Australia and works in the Intelligent Transport Systems team. He has experience managing ITS Operations, supporting the ITS Master Plan 2022-2030 planning document, and contributing to major infrastructure projects. Kalan is passionate about roadside device management, system integrations and improvements, and process automation.

As Chief Executive of ITS Australia, and with an extensive career in transport strategy, Susan is ideally placed at the intersection of technology and transport. Supported by strong connections to the international ITS community and the global network of ITS Associations, Susan works tirelessly advocating for the benefits of transport technologies for business and for the broader Australian community.

Susan is highly regarded for her roles supporting the growth and innovation of the nation’s transport technology industries. She works across a number of industry advisory groups and is a regular advisor to the State and Federal Governments, and their Ministers, on transport technology and mobility issues.
