NextGens Site Visit to the Brisbane Metro Adelaide Street Tunnel

The new Adelaide Street tunnel currently under construction in the Brisbane CBD will provide a dedicated connection for buses and Metro services between the Inner Northern Busway and South-East Busway. 

The NextGens will be taken on a guided tour of the Adelaide Street tunnel, including:

• Tunnel and fit out
• Longitudinal Egress Passageway
• Tunnel communications and switch rooms

This is an exclusive opportunity to see how ITS, tunnel systems, and MEP equipment are installed and commissioned. 

To take part in the guided tour, attendees must bring full PPE, including:

• Hard Hat
• Steel-cap Boots
• Safety Glasses
• Long Pants
• Long Sleeve Shirt
• Hi Vis Vest / Shirt
• Gloves

Safety and PPE requirements
All tour attendees will be required to complete a tunnel visitor induction before attending site. Entrants must also abide by site visitor safety requirements, including:
- All attendees must wear full PPE prior to entering the site 
- All attendees are under a no drug and alcohol policy to enter the site

All attendees must be able to: 
- Walk unassisted up and down two flights of stairs in full PPE
- Self-manage in potentially hot and humid conditions in full PPE
- Stand unassisted underground
- Walk on uneven underground terrain
- Self-evacuate in case of emergency
- Walk up to 1km
