ITS Australia Bids to Host 2029 ITS World Congress in Brisbane
ITS Australia is delighted to announce that we have officially submitted a bid to host the 35th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems in Brisbane in 2029.
With the 2032 Olympics to be hosted in Brisbane, it is an exciting time for an international conference of such significance to be invited to the city. The Olympics will provide Queensland the opportunity for once in a lifetime transformational change, crating legacy for future generations, all of which will underway in 2029.
Queensland is at the forefront of deploying advanced transport technologies, conducting the internationally significant CAVI trial on connected and automated vehicles. The State is also progressing with the deployment of the ODIN Pass Mobility as a Service app and is home to the Queensland Electric Super Highway network – the world's longest EV super highway within a single state.
Significantly, Queensland has honed its expertise in managing ITS deployments for resilient communities, tackling severe weather events as routine challenges in its daily operations.
“ITS Australia is thrilled to pitch Brisbane as the next city in the Asia-Pacific region to host the 35th World Congress. We will bring our significant expertise and experience in hosting successful international events, along with our strong global connections to a city and State that is delivering internationally significant ITS projects.”

The host city of the 35th World Congress will be announced at a special event in Dubai in September, leading into this year’s World Congress from 16 to 20 September.
