ISFO 2027 Call for Abstracts Now Open

Abstract submissions are now open for the International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations (ISFO 2027), a global industry event to be held in Melbourne, Australia 25-28 May 2027.
This marks the first time ISFO will be hosted in Australia, underscoring the nation’s growing leadership in intelligent transport systems and road operations.
Transport researchers, practitioners and industry leaders are invited to be part of the global conversation shaping the future of freeway and tollway operations and submit abstracts and proposals showcasing cutting-edge research, real-world case studies, policy insights and innovative solutions shaping safer, smarter and more sustainable road networks worldwide.
Topic for abstract submissions include:
- Global Perspectives on Freeway and Tollway Management
- Technological Innovations
- Event and Disruption Planning
- Sustainability and Resilience
- Road user charging, road funding, procurement and contracting
Cohosted with the Transport Research Board (TRB) and delivered alongside a world-class international consortium, including Victoria’s Department of Transport and Planning, NTRO, AASHTO, AustriaTech, ITS America Events, ITS Nationals Network, ERTICO (ITS Europe), the International Road Federation (IRF), and ITS Asia Pacific, ISFO 2027 will bring together global experts, policymakers, operators and innovators to explore the future of freeway operations, tolling, traffic management and digital road infrastructure.
