By integrating CV data with traditional sensors and infrastructure information, the study reveals valuable insights into traffic patterns, efficiency, safety risks, and violations. The findings underscore the significance of CV in improving overall efficiency and safety of road networks. We present a structured framework for effectively integrating CV data with modern traffic management systems and practices, aiming to develop cost-effective and integrated intelligent traffic management systems.

Andreas Goldhorn has been working with Transurban since March 2008. As Domain Lead Tolling, Andreas provides guidance shaping the strategic orientation of Transurban concerning the future technology for toll collection. Prior to working in Transurban, Andreas held positions in major projects delivering MLFF ETC Roadside Systems for Eastlink in Melbourne and Vespucio Norte Express in Santiago de Chile. Angus has been involved in the Tolling and broader ITS industry for over 18 years. Through these roles Angus was able to develop a deep understanding of the tolling landscape across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Matt brings over 20 years experience spanning industry and government in business improvement, cost recovery, regulatory reform, compliance and policy development. Matt’s diverse experience brings a unique blend of expertise to the National Pilot
Matt also has a strong background in regulation of vehicle safety standards, having managed the government’s transition to the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018.

Dr Neema Nassir is a Senior Lecturer in Transport Engineering and a member of the AIMES team at University of Melbourne. His research is focused on new methods to simulate, model, design and manage urban transport, public transit and shared-mobility systems.
Prior to joining University of Melbourne, Neema was a senior researcher at Transit Lab and Urban Mobility Lab of MIT and closely collaborated with transport authorities around the world, including Transport for London, Chicago Transport Authority, and Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Patsy Thomas was appointed Austroads National Temporary Traffic Management Operations Manager in 2022 moving from the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (South Australia).
Her 30+ years of experience in the training and audit industry includes lecturing and senior management roles. She has a particular passion for driving high performance and strengthening people and customer centric cultures. Her extensive career includes planning and implementing change management; building workplace relationships with staff and key stakeholders; process improvement; policy development; project management and implementation; training; facilitating; coaching, and leadership development.
Patsy holds degrees in training, public sector management, accounting and leadership and a Masters Degree in Management. She is currently studying a Graduate Diploma of Psychology. Patsy is an accredited DISC advanced consultant and has been a mentor for the Australian Institute of Training and Development mentor program. In her spare time Patsy is involved in amateur theatre as a director and stage manager and is an avid Canberra Raiders and NSW Blues supporter.

Paul is the Technology Manager for NWRG which owns and operates Westlink M7 (40km smart motorway) and NorthConnex (9.4km road tunnel) and is accountable for all aspects of technology for NWRG including Corporate IT, Operational Technology, Data Analytics and Cyber Security. Since initiating data analytics capability for the organisation in 2015, key initiatives for Westlink M7 have included: a) AM Proactive Speed Reduction at M7/M2 Northbound interface; b) Motorway Level of Service Reporting and Analysis (LoS); c) Operational Alarm rationalisation; d) Alternate Interchange Maintenance Regime; e) System Performance Reporting and Analysis (i.e. Equipment Availability, Mean Time To Repair, Number of Failures, Number of Repairs). Paul enjoys his free time cooking (particularly baking), cycling and surfing, all of which he doesn’t get to do often enough.

Renata Berglas currently leads the Mobility Futures group at the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO), where she investigates new transport technology (including alternative fuels, climate adaption and autonomous vehicles) and the important role that data plays in the transport sector. She is focused on facilitating transition to zero emission transport, opening dialogue between industry and government to form productive collaboration. Energy and the hydrogen sector more broadly are a particular passion for Renata that she pursues through her roles in with the Queensland Government on Minister De Brenni’s Hydrogen Taskforce and H2Q Hydrogen Queensland.

Rich is Aurecon's ITS Systems lead for Australia and New Zealand and is currently working in Aurecon's internal team to transition to Zero Emissions by 2025. Rich is leading the Fleet and Commuting stream with the Zero Emissions group, which includes the problem of transitioning 4WD Toyota Hilux into an appropriate Electric Vehicle equivalent. Given that there are no current 4WD EV utes (at the time of writing) and the proposed 4WD EV utes that are scheduled for Australia soon are much larger (like the Tesla Cyber Truck and Ford F150 lightning), it is no small feat. Add to that the difficult nature of getting reliable power to a construction site, it is also difficult to install rapid chargers at these locations. Rich has also worked with connected and Autonomous vehicles.

Rita is a qualified Civil Engineer with over 25 years’ experience across transport planning, urban planning, business transformation and managing organisational change. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia and is the immediate past president of that association. Rita has been invited to be an expert contributor to Connected and Automated Vehicle steering groups across Australia, New Zealand, United States, Singapore and Canada.
In October 2022, following an extensive career covering, local government, consulting and industry associations, including running the Australia and New Zealand Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADV), from 2016 to 2021, she joined AWS as the industry head for Transport across ANZO. In this role, Rita works with Public Sector Customers, across Land, Sea, Air and Rail Transport. Her role is to support Transport agencies on their transition to the cloud and assisting them to leverage the scale and agility of the cloud, to deliver, safe and sustainable services to their customers.
As the key spokesperson for a number of organisations across her career, Rita has delivered keynote addresses on the topic of driverless vehicles across the globe and has met with all levels of governments and their agencies in Australia, New Zealand, United States and UK. Career highlights include establishing the International ADVI program, running the first on-road demonstration of automated vehicle technology in the Southern Hemisphere in 2015, being the first female President of the Institute of Public Works Engineering, SA and Australasia, as well as having the IPWEA scholarship for Women in asset management named after her.
