Join us for the ITS Australia Leaders Forum, exclusively available to ITS members and non-members attending the 15th ITS Australia Awards in Perth (Thu 13 Feb 2025).
Join leaders from industry and government for a series of insightful presentations outlining their projects and plans for 2025. With presentations from Toyota, NTC, Transport for NSW, Transurban, Queensland Transport & Main Roads, Main Roads WA, See.Sense and more, this is a not to be missed event to start 2025.
In this engaging and interactive forum hosted by Main Roads WA, presentations will take place from 3pm-5pm followed by two hours of networking with colleagues and friends from across Australia.

Speakers

Aaron de Rozario
Executive Leader Regulatory Reform / National Transport Commission
Aaron de Rozario joined the National Transport Commission in July 2021 and is responsible for NTC’s regulatory reform initiatives portfolio including the automated vehicle, heavy vehicle and legislative reform programs.
Aaron has over 20 years public sector experience in both Australia and the United Kingdom and has as a strong record of achievement economic development, education, social justice policy and transport portfolios. He has advised the Western Australian and Victorian governments on industry reform, regulatory matters and the impact of technology on public policy.
Prior to joining the NTC, Aaron was Chief Executive officer of Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria, where he led the Victorian government’s commercial passenger vehicle reforms and heavily influenced Australia’s policy response to the emergence of ridesharing.
Aaron has a passion for technology and the political economy of software development. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Masters in Public Policy from Murdoch University.


Dr Yandong Fan
Head of ITS Strategy and Planning / Transurban
Dr Yandong Fan is an executive technology leader with more than 20 years of experience in leading strategy, architecture and innovation functions across transport, energy and telecommunications industries. With a PhD in mobile computing, he is specialised in developing technology strategies enabling delivery of business transformation. In his current role at Transurban, he leads the strategy development and investment plan for ITS across roadside tolling, surveillance and detection, operational control and management and road user experience. Before joining Transurban, Yandong was a Director and Chief Architect at Victoria State Government of Australia where he led the development and implementation of transport technology strategy and data reform strategy, and involved in major transport programs to deliver simple, safe and connected journeys for citizens and sustainable transport solutions for communities.


Susan Harris
Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive of ITS Australia, and with an extensive career in transport strategy, Susan is ideally placed at the intersection of technology and transport. Supported by strong connections to the international ITS community and the global network of ITS Associations, Susan works tirelessly advocating for the benefits of transport technologies for business and for the broader Australian community.
Susan is highly regarded for her roles supporting the growth and innovation of the nation’s transport technology industries. She works across a number of industry advisory groups and is a regular advisor to the State and Federal Governments, and their Ministers, on transport technology and mobility issues.


Trevor Hockridge
Partner - Consulting - Data & AI / Deloitte
Trevor leads the Transport sector for WA Public Sector in Deloitte. He also leads the AI & Data Public Sector team in Perth helping clients leverage data, analytics, automation, and AI to deliver insights to drive action and improve performance.
With over 20 years of management consulting experience, Trevor has a strong understanding of how effective use, management and governance of information can provide strategic advantage, having successfully delivered complex information-based projects both within Australia and internationally.
Trevor has worked with all of the WA Transport agencies and GTOs, delivering strategic advice and data driven insights, for example improving decision making for the delivery of major transport infrastructure projects and working with Main Roads to progress the Real Time Operations Platform.


Mehdi Langroudi
Executive Director of Network Operations / Main Roads Western Australia
Mehdi is a transport executive with a wealth of experience spanning various areas of the transport sector including multidisciplinary planning, design, and operations. In his current role, he leads a dynamic team of over 100 employees, dedicated to enhancing the performance of the road network in Western Australia. He is adept at propelling businesses forward by leveraging data-driven decision-making and technology.


Ada Lin
Cooperative and Automated Vehicles / Toyota Motor Corporation Australia
Ada has a 19-year career in the automotive and electronics industry and has led diverse teams across the globe. Her expertise includes Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Cooperative and Automated Vehicles, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing technology.
Currently, Ada leads the Cooperative and Automated Vehicles (CAV) team at Toyota/Lexus Australia, which collaborates with governments, industry, and academia as a research partner; liaises with Toyota Japan and global affiliates; and reviews industry and technology trends, providing insights to policymakers. Under her leadership, the team has spearheaded several award-winning Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) and Automated Vehicle (AV) programs.Ada holds a Master’s degree from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Auckland, and has pursued further professional development at Stanford University, Harvard Business School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management, and others.
As a member of the ITS Australia Board of Directors, Ada will contribute to the policy subcommittee. She is also an active member of working groups at the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) and the Australian Integrated Multimodal EcoSystem (AIMES) and a lead author of ITS publications. Ada is a passionate advocate for road safety, dedicated to developing real-world mobility solutions that enhance the safety, efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability of future transport systems.


Irene McAleese
Co-Founder & Director / See.Sense
I'm the Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at See.Sense, a cycling and micromobility technology and data company, helping cities transform for more sustainable travel. I lead strategy and partnerships, focused on harnessing See.Sense advanced sensor and AI technologies to create safer, smarter, and more sustainable urban environments.
I have been honoured as an 'Export Champion' by the UK Department for International Trade, and as a Board Adviser on Diversity for the UK Bicycle Association, and proudly represent the Women in Cycling Network as an Ambassador. I was selected by Cycling UK as part of their 100 Women in Cycling and I am an active member of Cycling Industry Europe, having spent a term as a Board Member and now as Expert Member of their Connected Cycling and ITS Network. I was recognised by the Northern Ireland Women in Business Awards for Best Small Business.


Dr Neema Nassir
Senior Lecturer, Transport Engineering Infrastructure Engineering / The University of Melbourne
Dr Neema Nassir is an Associate Professor of Transport Engineering, and the program coordinator of Civil Engineering at the Department of Infrastructure Engineering, University of Melbourne. He is also a member of the AIMES team, and co-lead of Geospatial Transport Planning at CSDILA in the Faculty of Engineering and IT.
Dr Nassir's research is focused on big data from transport systems and new methods to simulate, model, design and manage public transport, shared-mobility, and connected automated transport systems. Prior to joining University of Melbourne, he was a senior researcher at Transit Lab and Urban Mobility Lab of MIT, where he closely collaborated with transport authorities in Chicago, Boston and London. Dr Nassir currently leads several transport research projects in collaboration with the states and federal governments in Australia, including:

Jason Owusu
Chief Data & Digital / Victoria Department of Transport and Planning
Jason Owusu is the Chief, Data & Digital at the Department of Transport and Planning. He is responsible for the end-to-end planning, delivery, operations and management of the department’s data, analytics, spatial and digital solutions and services for transport, planning and land use.
Jason was previously in the role of Executive Director Data Transformation and before that was the Director of Data Management in the Department of Transport. He is passionate about the intersection of data, AI and machine learning and the potential application of these emerging technologies. His experience focuses on leading through change, increasing operational efficiencies and driving positive outcomes for customers and communities. Prior to his executive career in the public sector, Jason held a variety of senior management roles in the utilities, energy and FMCG sectors.


Silje Troseth
President ITS Australia / Vice President APAC & General Manager Australia / Q-Free Australia
Silje Troeth was elected President of the ITS Australia Board of Directors in November 2023.
Silje has been working in the ITS industry for 15 years both with the private sector and the public sector within project management, project delivery, sales and marketing. Silje has been with Q-Free Australia since 2004 and has held various positions within the company in Norway, Australia and the Asia Pacific region, most recently as General Manager and Senior Vice President for AMPEA (Asia Pacific Middle East and Africa).
Silje has been a director of ITS Australia since 2018, and in addition to serving as President, Silje also serves as Chair of the Marketing & Communications Committee, and sits on the Membership Committee. Silje holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Western Sydney and a Master’s degree from the University of Technology Sydney.
