Join our Canberra ITS Business Networking Event this October for an update from Seeing Machines about its work building the world's most advanced human data-driven technology, and enhancing safety by dramatically reducing fatal accidents every day. We'll also hear updates from the Australian Government's Office of Future Transport Technology and from ANCAP about its Assisted Driving Program including the testing already undertaken and the program's future trajectory.

Speakers
Nikki Vajrabukka
Director of Transport Technology and Policy / Office of Future Transport Technology, Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts
Nikki Vajrabukka is Director of Transport Technology and Policy at the Office of Future Transport Technology, in the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts. In this role, Nikki leads a range of work to prepare Australia for emerging road transport technologies such as connected and automated vehicles and co-operative intelligent transport systems. This includes implementing and engaging on Commonwealth-led aspects of the National Policy Framework for Land Transport Technologies and its Action Plan, and providing strategic policy advice on the contribution these technologies can make to improved outcomes in transport safety, accessibility and productivity.
Kyle Wilson
PhD Senior Scientist and Team Lead, Human Factors / Seeing Machines
Kyle is a behavioural science researcher with 8+ years applying human factors and UX methods to the design of technology and systems - primarily in transport, aviation and defence contexts. Experience navigating challenging research environments in multiple settings internationally (UK, EU, USA, AU, & NZ), collaborating effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, and turning data into insights that shape successful products and systems.

James Hurnall
Director - Policy / ANCAP SAFETY
James Hurnall has a Mechanical Engineering Degree and also a Masters of Business and Technology from the University of New South Wales. He has a lengthy career in vehicle safety and regulation having worked as the Technical Director at the Australian Automobile Association, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industry (Australia’s vehicle industry’s national association) and is currently the Policy Director at ANCAP, Australasia’s independent vehicle safety authority. James has been actively involved with helping prepare Australia for the introduction of connected and automated vehicles and is leading ANCAP’s introduction of testing of assisted driving systems.
