Speakers

Damian Garnham
Lead Partner, Transport and Mobility / Deloitte
Damian is the lead partner for Transport and Mobility team at Deloitte in Australia, a specialised group of over 200 practitioners in the sector. He has over 25 years of international experience in Australia and the United Kingdom, specialising in delivering infrastructure and technology in Rail, Road and Aviation. He is an experienced leader of major program delivery in Transport and Infrastructure including ITS technology solutions in road user charging and digital twins / simulation. The Optimal Reality solution in this space was developed through the Deloitte Australia Transport team.
Damian has worked with clients on major programme and transformation initiatives through technology-driven change (Transport for London, Highways England, MTR Corporation), major infrastructure (Crossrail, Network Rail, Australian Rail Track Corporation), and operations (London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Transport and Main Roads Queensland, National Air Traffic Services). Damian's personal background is as a leader of Major Programmes, bringing hands-on experience in implementation and commercial management of complex infrastructure and high profile program delivery in both the UK, Australia and Hong Kong.


Tania Orr
General Manager, Transport Planning and Operation / Brisbane City Council
Tania Orr is the General Manager of Transport Planning and Operations (TPO) – starting in the role 3 years ago (on 19 April 2022). Her role is critical role in ensuring Council effectively plans, funds and operates Brisbane’s transport network to meet the current and future needs of the city.
As both a significant asset owner, transport planner, budget program manager and network operator, she has the responsibility for long and short-term transport network and infrastructure planning, day-to-day network operation, and the ownership of current and future assets.
Tania is a Senior Executive with over 20 years’ experience in social infrastructure including all modes of transport, major projects, and precinct development.
For the three years prior to working at Council, Tania worked for the Transport for NSW as Executive Director, Planning and Programs and Program Director, Fast Rail. Prior to these roles, Tania was employed by KPMG Australia as Director, Infrastructure & Projects Group.
She also spent over 12 years working for the Victorian Government as an executive across a number of in rail transport, planning, strategy, property development and infrastructure
Tania holds a Senior Executive MBA from the Melbourne Business School and is a Certified Associate in Asset Management.


Dennis Walsh
Co-Vice President ITS Australia / Chief Engineer / Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads
Dennis is Co-Vice President of the ITS Australia Board.
Dennis is Chief Engineer of the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. He oversees a range of technologies including Geospatial Technologies, Road Design and Hydraulics; Pavement, Materials and Geotechnical Engineering; Structures; and Safer Roads Infrastructure.
A Chartered Professional Engineer, member of Engineers Australia and graduate of Australian Institute of company directors
Has worked across areas including strategic planning, traffic and transport planning, road safety policy and engineering, road design, road operations and Intelligent Transport Systems. He has contributed to a range of national groups and is Queensland Director on the ANCAP Board. Board member and Vice President of ITS Australia. Has recently been appointed as a Board member and Interim Chair of Transmax and Queensland's board Austroads board member. He is also on the interim board of CCAT. He is a member of Institute of Public Works Engineers Australia.
Dennis is committed to bringing together skills and knowledge of his team and their partners to embrace new technologies, engage with customers and drive new ideas into action for benefit of the community.


Susan Harris
Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive of ITS Australia, and with an extensive career in transport strategy, Susan is ideally placed at the intersection of technology and transport. Supported by strong connections to the international ITS community and the global network of ITS Associations, Susan works tirelessly advocating for the benefits of transport technologies for business and for the broader Australian community.
Susan is highly regarded for her roles supporting the growth and innovation of the nation’s transport technology industries. She works across a number of industry advisory groups and is a regular advisor to the State and Federal Governments, and their Ministers, on transport technology and mobility issues.
