He has a number of publications in the field including a paper on quantifying the economic benefits of the different functional areas of PTIPS. Dr Jake Whitehead is CEO at ODIN PASS – a mobility as a service operator running Australia’s largest MaaS trial in cooperation with Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, The University of Queensland, and iMOVE. Jake has worked across government, industry and academia on sustainable transport policy for the past 15 years. He holds two PhDs, one in transport science from The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and a second in transport engineering from QUT in Brisbane. He was also recently a lead author of the transport chapter for the Intergovernmental Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and is currently Head of Policy at the Electric Vehicle Council.

Michelle is a qualified lawyer and prior to entering the world of transport, she worked in the justice and emergency management portfolios of the Victorian Government. She is passionate about promoting urban mobility for the benefit of customers and broader communities.
She is also the host of the acclaimed Women Who Move Nations podcast, where Michelle interviews senior female transport leaders from around their world who share their views on the future of transport and insights into their professional career journeys.

As Head of Customer Experience and Network Design her role is to deliver best-in-class mobility solutions to passengers and Public Transport Authorities. This has given her a very accurate understanding of the mobility needs in the different regions, each with their own regulatory and contractual framework, and an ability to innovate to meet the evolving needs of local communities.
Nathalie’s expertise in network design and planning, customer experience and new mobilities, has been a real value for the development of Keolis in Europe and now in Australia.

Neil France is a Senior Infrastructure Advisor within Infrastructure Victoria’s Networks & Planning team. At Infrastructure Victoria, Neil has worked on both policy and project assessment with experience in road pricing, public transport fare reform and strategic analysis of major transport infrastructure. He also led research looking into Melbourne’s recovery from the impacts of COVID-19, and was lead author of Infrastructure Victoria’s latest research, Get on board - making the most of Melbourne’s buses. In 2019, Neil was recognised as part of the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Future Leaders award.

As Director-General, Neil leads the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), with a budget of $10.5 billion, including capital expenditure of $4.5 billion, and managed assets worth in excess of $92 billion.
Neil joined the Queensland Public Service in March 2012 as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TransLink, where he was responsible for the public transport network across Queensland. He was appointed Director-General of TMR in March 2013.
In September 2014, Neil became Commissioner for the National Transport Commission (NTC) and joined the Roads Australia Board in November 2014. Neil is Chair of Austroads and Deputy Chair of the Australian Road Research Board, and sit across a number of other Boards.
In September 2014, Neil became Government Champion for the Woorabinda Indigenous community. From 2015–2017, Neil was the Queensland Public Sector’s CEO Champion against domestic and family violence. In 2017, Neil won the Australia’s CEO Challenge Race, a fundraising initiative that raises money and awareness for domestic and family violence prevention.

Paul is the Program Manager for Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads MaaS and Mobility Program. The program is responsible for considering the department’s response to emerging mobility and service trends. Paul’s work with the program includes the establishment of its research activities and foundational policy streams of activities. The program’s research activities have seen the establishment of the MaaS Trial, ODIN PASS, regional MaaS research and partnerships with industry and academia. Paul has 22 years of government policy delivery and operational experience in transport regulation, with a focus on road user behaviour and systems implementation.

Pauline is passionate about making liveable places through better governance, planning and design. For over 20 years Pauline has pursued a career in urban design and architecture for major public domain and infrastructure projects in the private and public sector. She has wide-ranging knowledge and experience in city-making, strategy development and implementation, working at the interface of transport, social, economic, and cultural development. Pauline holds an Executive Master of Science in Cities (Distinction) from the London School of Economics and degrees in Applied Science and Architecture (Hons) from Curtin University. She is currently the Director of Cities Strategy and Assurance in the Cities and Active Transport Division in Transport for NSW.

Roberto Evangelio is the Director of Transport Insights & Evidence at the Victorian Department of Transport specialising in transport economics, demand forecasting, data analytics and urban and transport planning . He leads a team of data scientists, economists, and strategic modellers to build better insights and evidence on the transport network. He is instrumental in developing the economic assessment framework and project assessment capability in the Department. He led the economic assessment of major projects in Victoria, such as the Melbourne Metro and the Regional Rail Link projects.
Prior to working in Australia, Roberto works in consulting and development agencies, such as World Bank and Asian Development Bank as an economist.

Ronny specialises in mathematical modelling of physical systems for optimisation, control and automation. His research interests include vehicle and traffic modelling, traffic network control and transport optimisation. Ronny has worked on various projects in the ITS field, which included applications of advanced techniques for intersection control, intelligent mobility on demand, and CAV trials and roadmap. He has also taken a role as an R&D Program Leader at the NTRO focusing on infrastructure productivity through integrated mobility management and optimisation. Ronny has had many of his technical reports and academic publications published in various world-leading journals and conferences.

As Director-General, Sally Stannard leads the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). TMR has an annual budget of $12 billion, including capital expenditure of $4.2 billion and managed assets in excess of $106 billion.
Sally was Acting Director-General from 5 June 2023 and formally appointed in December 2023, taking on the leadership of TMR's portfolio of work across road, rail, bus, cycling and marine infrastructure in Queensland. Alongside that, Sally has oversight of a new addition to TMR—the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group that is focused on driving Queensland's digital economy, delivering better citizen-centric services, and optimising the Queensland Government's investment and use of technology.
In Sally's previous role as the Deputy Director-General (Translink), she led the delivery of customer-focused passenger transport services across Queensland including policy, planning, ticketing, contract management and customer services.
Sally is the Chair of Cross River Rail and Chair of Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand. She is also a board member of Roads Australia and Queensland Hydro. She holds qualifications in Engineering and International Studies and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Sally is passionate about the role transport plays in equitable and sustainable economic development of our cities and regions.

She has presented in 2022 ITS Summit in Brisbane, 2022 AITPM Online Technical Conference Series and has gained professional developments such as RPEQ, RPEV, RPEng, CPEng and APEC certificates. She is participating in Engineers Australia mentorship program as a mentor to assist other engineers and community.

Sarah Mallela is specialized in Transportation Planning and Road Safety with a master’s degree in Transportation Engineering. She has a background in Civil Engineering as bachelors. She has broad experience working in Transportation and Safety projects with a study area for more than 7000 square kilometres of exclusive corridors. She has worked in travel demand modelling, spatiotemporal analysis, Origin-Destination studies, forecasting, advanced econometric analysis, speed delay studies, car-following models, road safety auditing, and accident studies with large datasets. Regarding the current Ph.D. project, she is working with shared e-scooter system demand.

Susan is highly regarded for her roles supporting the growth and innovation of the nation’s transport technology industries. Tamara is the Project Director of Ticketing for South Australia’s Department of Infrastructure and Transport (SAPTA). Tamara is responsible for the delivery of the Next Generation Ticketing Program, which is iteratively transforming ticketing solutions available to South Australians. This includes the adoption of a hyprid ticketing solution, adding an open media module to the existing legacy solution, and upgrading hardware for customers to make contactless fare payments with their credit or debit card, or their equivalent digital device.

Tim is a Senior Engineering Fellow at Cubic Transportation Systems. He has 30 over years of experience in the design, development delivery of fare collection systems in Europe, the USA and in Australia, and has held a variety of senior engineering and project management roles including serving as the Chief Technology Officer for Cubic. He holds an Honours degree in Physics and Astrophysics from the University of Leeds, and an MBA from Curtin University.
