Building a strong and inclusive industry

In 2018, ITS Australia's Board of Directors established measurable objectives for achieving diversity in our association. Initially, objectives will focus on gender diversity. While we recognise that gender is only one part of overall diversity, we also understand that improvements to gender diversity have been shown to enhance overall diversity.

Objectives
  • Improving gender diversity on the ITS Australia Board over the coming three to four years with the target that neither men nor women have less than 25% representation as a step towards securing diversity on the Board that reflects diversity in our industry and the community our industry serves.
  • Establishing a baseline of current gender diversity in our activities at all levels:
    • Board positions
    • Committees
    • Speakers at our activities (face to face and digital)
    • Event attendees
    • Main member contacts
    • Employees

The Board will use this baseline to establish objectives and assess them annually including progress in achieving them and associated strategies.

ITS Australia will report annually at the AGM on its diversity profile to facilitate greater transparency and encourage engagement with our members and stakeholders in achieving improved diversity outcomes for ITS Australia activities overall as well as the industry in general.

Supporting diversity in the ITS industry is a shared responsibility amongst the board, our employees, our members, and stakeholders. We seek your support as we strive to enhance diversity and inclusion to achieve our vision.
