Melbourne ITS Business Networking Event 2022

Tues. 28 June 2022
5:15pm (for a 5:30pm start) — 7:30pm

Toyota Australia, 155 Bertie St, Port Melbourne, VIC 3207

So far, 2022 has proven to be an exciting year in mobility for Melbourne. The city is currently undertaking one of the world’s most successful e-scooter trials, with enthusiastic Melbournians riding more than 2 million kilometres.

At the same time, road safety continues to be a key priority for the Victorian Department of Transport with an additional $245 million road safety investment, in partnership with the Commonwealth Government, to continue the delivery of the Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030 and Action Plan. This investment continues Victoria’s history of progressive road safety initiatives and campaigns significantly reducing road trauma.

Join us at our June Business Networking Event to hear about all that’s going on in ITS across Melbourne and an update on The Victorian Department of Transport's Smarter Roads Program. Held at Toyota, the event will include an update on Toyota's active research in technical trials of C-ITS technology in Australia in collaboration with the Queensland and Victorian State Governments, including research focussed on vehicles powered by a range of alternative fuels, and global research into automated driving.

Toyota established its presence in Australia in 1963 and has brought to market many innovations in safety and environmental technology. Toyota was the first vehicle maker to deploy V2X technology in production vehicles in Japan and over a quarter of a million vehicles have since been sold with this technology.

About the venue

Toyota Australia

Since its foundation in 1937, globally, Toyota has strived continuously to contribute to the sustainable development of society and the planet through its business operations. It’s a principle that has been continued since Toyota Australia started in 1963 and has helped to cement its position as Australia’s leading automotive company.

Motor vehicles greatly expand the freedom of mobility, however, Toyota recognise that they can also have an effect on our society and the environment. With this in mind, Toyota listen carefully to stakeholders in the pursuit of a business that works towards harmony with people, society, and the global environment.

Toyota are continuously innovating to develop vehicles that meet the needs of the market both now and into the future. Research focuses on vehicles powered by a range of alternative fuels and vehicles with the potential for automated driving. Meanwhile Toyota continues to work towards vehicles that are safe for everyone, and that maintain the standards of durability and reliability that people expect from the Toyota brand.
